Ice baths, also known as cold water immersion therapy, work by exposing the body to extremely cold temperatures, typically ranging from 10° to 15° degrees Celsius (Or as low as 4° with a Chiller)
Submerging the body, either partially or fully, in the cold water for a predetermined amount of time, usually between 5 to 20 minutes.
When you immerse yourself in an ice bath, several physiological responses occur within your body. Initially, the cold temperature constricts blood vessels in your skin and extremities, diverting blood flow to the core in an attempt to maintain optimal body temperature.
